I had the honour of visiting the Sámi, the indigenous people in the Arctic Circle of Finland for a film shoot with Redbull Media house. They had about 1500 reindeers when I was there and all the families came together to mark and sort them — a rare occasion to witness because there is never a set date for when they have all the reindeers gathered.

The sound of the reindeers running in the pen reminded me of a fire crackling. The only thing making sure the reindeers wouldn’t trample on us we’re a couple of teenagers with a large piece of cloth. Their families have been doing this for ages and it’s gruelling labour done in the freezing cold. This experience made me fall in love with the Arctic and it’s inhabitants.
